As a part of our diverse community, I empathize with the multiple challenges that many of us face daily. My goal is to work together to address these challenges in a supportive, non-judgmental space. My background includes experience assisting individuals navigating substance use, trauma, and anxiety, especially those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. I strive to ensure that you feel heard, understood, respected, and valued in our space together, and work to meet each client where they are to provide the best possible outcomes. I have gained professional experience with the challenges and nuances that are involved in navigating life in today’s uncertain world. These experiences have included adult and adolescent individual therapy, group therapy, and experience in medical social work. I have provided individual therapy to the LGBTQ community since I became licensed, focusing on gender-affirming care and substance use. Along with therapeutic practice, I serve the community by serving on the board of several local trans organizations, and I am a former special education teacher.
My approach is to engage with every client as a unique individual, respecting the different experiences of each person. I use a trauma-informed approach, as well as harm reduction. I draw from a variety of modalities including CBT, MI, and DBT principles in therapy. Working together as a team is important, as I want clients to feel empowered to make informed choices as they move forward on their unique path toward healing.

LGBTQ+: The LGBTQ community is my community, as I identify as both trans and gay. I have personal and professional experience in dealing with the unique challenges and stress of being part of this community. One of the areas in which I am deeply committed to offering services is in the area of gender-affirming care. I offer a confidential and non-judgmental space in which to explore emotions and experiences relating to gender and how these experiences shape your world. Substance Use: I operate through the framework of harm reduction when engaging with clients dealing with substance use issues in a compassionate and non-judgmental space. My approach is to work together to create goals that help you move forward while helping to understand how to live a healthier life and empower you by understanding the benefits and consequences of every choice you make about your body and health.
Depression, Anxiety, and Trauma: Our lives can often be shaped by experiences of trauma, which create challenging spaces that are difficult to navigate. I draw on trauma-informed, evidence-based practices to help you explore, process, and understand these experiences, guiding you toward a path of healing. Trauma can deeply affect every area of our experiences and well-being. By working together, we can begin to navigate toward healing and resilience. With a holistic approach, I support clients in finding peace by reconnecting their internal and external worlds in a judgment-free environment.
